In the study about the creation of mankind<\/span><\/a> we explained that a human being is a spiritual personality with a body.
\nA human being is<\/strong><\/span> a living soul.<\/p>\n

But where is the soul to be found? Where is the deepest personality of a human being to be found?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Bible says the following with regard to the place where the soul is to be found:<\/p>\n

For the life (soul) of a (every) creature is in the blood.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 (Leviticus 17:11)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Because the life (soul) of every<\/span> creature is its blood.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 (Leviticus 17:14)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Every creature\u2019 can mean every kind of \u2018creature\u2019, but also \u2018all living beings\u2019, both animals and people.<\/p>\n

The soul is not found when blood is examined in a laboratory, because the soul is spiritual.
\nAs it is said that the soul is in the blood, this has to be understood spiritually.<\/p>\n

The soul \u2018dwells\u2019<\/strong> in the blood.
\nBlood penetrates the whole body. This means that the whole body is saturated with a human being\u2019s character and personality, with all his desires and emotions.<\/p>\n

The \u2018headquarters\u2019<\/strong> of the blood is the heart, which is also considered to be the centre of emotions and inclinations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A few Bible verses:<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u2018Inclinations\u2019<\/strong> appears to be the translation of several different words in the original text.<\/p>\n

The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination (intention) of the thoughts of the human heart<\/strong> was only evil all the time.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 6:5)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

May these words of my mouth and this meditation (inclination \u2013 reverie)<\/strong> of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.\u00a0\u00a0 (Psalm 19:14)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many are the plans (inclinations \u2013 intentions) in a person\u2019s heart<\/strong>, but it is the LORD\u2019s purpose that prevails.\u00a0\u00a0 (Proverbs 19:21)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations (plans \u2013 deliberations)<\/strong> of their evil hearts<\/strong>. They went backward and not forward.\u00a0\u00a0 (Jeremiah 7:24)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Knowing their thoughts (considerations),<\/strong> Jesus said, \u201cWhy do you entertain (consider)<\/strong> evil thoughts in your hearts<\/strong>?\u00a0 (Matthew 9:4)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But the things that come out of a person\u2019s mouth come from the heart<\/strong>, and these defile them.\u00a0\u00a0 (Matthew 15:18)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus, knowing their thoughts (of their hearts – the thinking of someone who consults with himself),<\/strong> took a little child and had him stand beside him.\u00a0\u00a0 (Luke 9:47)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking (the thinking of someone who consults with himself)<\/strong> became futile and their foolish (stupid, lacking insight) hearts<\/strong> were darkened.\u00a0\u00a0 (Romans 1:21)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Proverbs 3:3)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed (given them rest, revived) the hearts of the Lord\u2019s people<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Philemon 1:7)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability (in the heart)<\/strong> to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you.\u00a0\u00a0 (Exodus 31:6)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (1 Kings 10:24)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation (reverie, expression) of my heart<\/strong> will give you understanding.\u00a0\u00a0 (Psalm 49:3)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge (also: discernment, insight) will be pleasant to your soul<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Proverbs 2:10)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Those who trust in themselves (their hearts) are fools<\/strong>, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.\u00a0\u00a0 (Proverbs 28:26)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I said to myself<\/strong> (literally: I spoke words to my heart<\/strong>), \u201cLook, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced (seen, understood) much of wisdom and knowledge<\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Ecclesiastes 1:16)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These texts show:<\/p>\n
