Matthew 14:22-31<\/span><\/h3>\n

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,<\/em>
\n and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.<\/em>
\n Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.<\/em>
\n When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. \u201cIt\u2019s a ghost,\u201d they said, and cried out in fear.<\/em>
\n But Jesus immediately said to them: \u201cTake courage! It is I. Don\u2019t be afraid.\u201d<\/em>
\n \u201cLord, if it\u2019s you,\u201d Peter replied, \u201ctell me to come to you on the water.\u201d \u201cCome,\u201d he said<\/strong>.<\/em>
\n Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid<\/strong> and, beginning to sink, cried out, \u201cLord, save me!\u201d Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. \u201cYou of little faith,\u201d he said, \u201cwhy did you doubt?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Peter walked on the waves, looked around, and became afraid.
\nThat is why Jesus asked Peter: Why<\/strong> <\/span>did you doubt?<\/p>\n

This why<\/strong> is the translation of two words.
\nThe Greek says:\u00a0 Eis tis<\/strong> <\/span>\u2026 did you doubt.<\/p>\n
