{"id":208,"date":"2014-04-01T15:27:44","date_gmt":"2014-04-01T14:27:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/?p=208"},"modified":"2014-06-13T08:46:58","modified_gmt":"2014-06-13T07:46:58","slug":"ezekiel-2811-king-tyre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/ezekiel-2811-king-tyre\/","title":{"rendered":"Ezekiel 28:11 &#8211; The king of Tyre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tyre was a trading city, situated on the Mediterranean seacoast.<br \/>\nBecause of its ports, which lay partially in the sea, it was a very prosperous city, as also appears from the description in Ezekiel chapter 27.<\/p>\n<p>Chapter 28 of Ezekiel begins as follows:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>The word of the LORD came to me: \u201cSon of man, say to the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ruler<\/span> of Tyre<\/strong>, \u2018This is what the Sovereign LORD says: \u201c\u2019In the pride of your heart you say, \u201cI am a god; sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.\u201d <strong>But you are a mere mortal and not a god<\/strong>, \u2026 By your wisdom and understanding you have gained wealth for yourself and amassed gold and silver in your treasuries. By your great skill in trading you have increased your wealth, and <strong>because of your wealth your heart has grown proud<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Ezekiel 28:1-5)<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As a result of the city\u2019s prosperity the prince, the ruler of the city of Tyre, fell into the trap of riches and become proud.\u00a0 He saw himself as a god.<br \/>\nThat is why Ezekiel had to pronounce God\u2019s judgement on the city.<br \/>\nAccording to verse 8 the city will be destroyed and the ruler of Tyre \u2018will die a violent death\u2019.<br \/>\nIt is clear to whom \u2018the ruler of Tyre\u2019 refers: the worldly ruler of the city of Tyre.<\/p>\n<p>It appears, however, that this <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ruler<\/span> of Tyre<\/strong> in the heavenly realms was lead on by the <strong>\u2018<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">king<\/span> of Tyre\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This \u2018king\u2019 appears to be Satan himself according to Ezekiel 28:11-13.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>The word of the LORD came to me: \u201cSon of man, take up a lament concerning the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">king<\/span> of Tyre<\/strong> and say to him: \u2018This is what the Sovereign LORD says: \u201c\u2018You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. <strong>You were in Eden, the garden of God<\/strong>; \u2026\u00a0\u00a0 (Ezekiel 28:11-13)<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It was in the Garden of Eden that Satan, disguised as a serpent, seduced Eve, as is described in Genesis chapter 3.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Conclusion:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If the <strong>king<\/strong> van Tyre was present in the Garden van Eden, the logical conclusion is that this \u2018king\u2019 refers to Satan himself and that Satan was the spiritual might in the heavenly realms that inspired the <strong>ruler<\/strong> of Tyre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>See also: <a title=\"SATAN  \u2013  an angel who rebelled\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/satan-angel-rebelled\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Satan &#8211; An angel who rebelled<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Print this study as a PDF document:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Ezekiel-28.11-the-king-of-Tyre.pdf\">Ezekiel 28:11 &#8211;\u00a0The king of Tyre.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tyre was a trading city, situated on the Mediterranean seacoast.
