{"id":2623,"date":"2018-07-05T19:42:08","date_gmt":"2018-07-05T18:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/?p=2623"},"modified":"2018-07-05T19:42:08","modified_gmt":"2018-07-05T18:42:08","slug":"beelzebul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/beelzebul\/","title":{"rendered":"By Beelzebul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This study complements the study \u2018<a title=\"Word study of the little Greek words epi, en, eis\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/word-study-little-greek-words-epi-en-eis\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Word study<\/span><\/a> of the little Greek words epi, en, eis\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>What is important for this study is the little Greek word <strong>\u2018en\u2019<\/strong> that is translated as <strong>\u2018by\u2019 i<\/strong>n the texts below.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">By Beelzebul \u2013 the texts:<\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><em>But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, \u201cIt is only <strong>by (en)<\/strong> Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Matthew 12:24)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>(Jesus said:) And if I drive out demons <strong>by (en)<\/strong> Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.\u00a0\u00a0 (Matthew 12:27 and Luke 11:19)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, \u201cHe is possessed by Beelzebul! <strong>By (en)<\/strong> the prince of demons he is driving out demons.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Mark 3:22)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>But some of them said, \u201c<strong>By (en)<\/strong> Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Luke 11:15)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>(Jesus said:) If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons <strong>by (en)<\/strong> Beelzebul.\u00a0\u00a0 (Luke 11:18)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As is explained in de study \u2018Word study of the little Greek words epi, en, eis\u2019, the little Greek word <strong>\u2018en\u2019<\/strong> indicates the <strong>place in which<\/strong> an act takes place or will take place.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<strong>By<\/strong> Beelzebul\u2019 would therefore be better translated as \u2018<strong>in<\/strong> Beelzebul\u2019 in the texts quoted above.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For what does being \u2018in\u2019 someone mean?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To understand this it is important to realise what Jesus says about Himself.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIf God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; <strong>God sent me<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (John 8:42)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for <strong>I always do what pleases him<\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (John 8:29)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>I and the Father are one.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> (John 10:30)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>Don\u2019t you believe that I am<strong> in (en)<\/strong> the Father, and that the Father is <strong>in (en)<\/strong> me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living<strong> in (en)<\/strong> me, who is doing his work.\u00a0\u00a0 (John 14:10)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus always does what the Father says.<br \/>\nJesus and the Father are one.<br \/>\nJesus is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in<\/span><\/strong> the Vader and the Father is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in<\/span><\/strong> Jesus.<br \/>\nWhen Jesus lived in this world the Father did His works in Him.<\/p>\n<p>And it is clear how Jesus drove evil spirits out:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>But if it is<strong> by (en = in)<\/strong> the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.\u00a0\u00a0 (Matthew 12:28)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>But if I drive out demons <strong>by (en = in)<\/strong> the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.\u00a0\u00a0 (Luke 11:20)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus did not drive the evil spirits out <strong>\u2018by\u2019<\/strong> the Holy Spirit, but <strong>\u2018in\u2019<\/strong> the Holy Spirit.<br \/>\nJesus did not give the Holy Spirit the command to drive Beelzebul out from a distance as it were.<br \/>\nNo, Beelzebul had to obey Jesus because He gave him his orders <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in the authority<\/span><\/strong> of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">But what do the Pharisees say?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Pharisees insinuated that Jesus did not drive evil spirits out <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">by (en = in)<\/span><\/strong> the Holy Spirit, but <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">by (en = in)<\/span><\/strong> Beelzebul, i.e. <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in the authority<\/span><\/strong> of Satan, the prince of the evil spirits.<\/p>\n<p>Whereby Jesus would not be <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in<\/span><\/strong> the Father and the Father would not be <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in<\/span><\/strong> Him.<br \/>\nAccording to the Pharisees Jesus was only able to drive evil spirits out because He was <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in<\/span><\/strong> Satan, as a result of which Jesus became an accomplice of Satan in their eyes.<\/p>\n<p>This is how the people among the masses were regarding Jesus, so that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>But some of them said, \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>By (en = in)<\/strong><\/span> Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Luke 11:15)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Caution:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Jesus drove the evil spirits out <strong>in the authority of<\/strong> \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u2026 <strong>the Spirit of truth<\/strong> who goes out from the Father \u2026\u00a0\u00a0 (John 15:26)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When the Pharisees suggest that Jesus is receiving the authority from Beelzebul, the prince of the evil spirits, they are blaspheming against the Holy Spirit by doing so.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus warns therefore:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but <strong>blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven<\/strong>.<br \/>\n(Matthew 12:31)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but <strong>anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven<\/strong>, either in this age or in the age to come.\u00a0\u00a0 (Matthew 12:32 and Luke 12:10)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>See also the studies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I<\/span>n my name \/ In the name of.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Matthew 14:31 \u2013 Why doubt\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/matthew-1431-doubt\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Matthew 14:31 &#8211; Why doubt.<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Believing in Jesus Christ\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/believing-jesus-christ\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Believing in Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Print this study as a PDF document:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/By-Beelzebul.pdf\">By Beelzebul.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This study complements the study \u2018Word study of the little Greek words epi, en, eis\u2019.
