{"id":331,"date":"2014-05-08T11:19:45","date_gmt":"2014-05-08T10:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/?p=331"},"modified":"2014-06-30T09:25:30","modified_gmt":"2014-06-30T08:25:30","slug":"satan-angel-rebelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/satan-angel-rebelled\/","title":{"rendered":"SATAN  &#8211;  an angel who rebelled"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Satan was created as an angel.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Satan was created by God as angel, with a high position in heaven.<br \/>\nIt is written of him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Son of man, take up a lament concerning the <strong>king of Tyre<\/strong> and say to him: \u2018This is what the Sovereign LORD says: \u201c\u2018You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. <strong>You were in Eden<\/strong>, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you:\u00a0\u00a0 carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. <strong>You were anointed as a guardian cherub<\/strong>, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.\u00a0\u00a0 (Ezekiel 28:12-14)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a title=\"Ezekiel 28:11 \u2013 The king of Tyre\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/ezekiel-2811-king-tyre\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>king of Tyre<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in this prophecy refers to Satan, who was created as an angel, <a title=\"Ezekiel 28:14 \u2013 A guardian cherub\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/ezekiel-2814-guardian-cherub\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a guardian cherub<\/span><\/a> before the throne of God.<\/p>\n<p>He looked splendid according to the above description. He was one of the principle angels in the third heaven, a guardian cherub over the throne of God.<\/p>\n<p>It says in Isaiah 14:11-12:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u2026 <strong>your pomp<\/strong> has been brought down to the grave, along with <strong>the noise of your harps<\/strong>; \u2026 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! \u2026<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This prophecy connects \u2018your pomp\u2019 with \u2018 the noise of your harps\u2019.<br \/>\nThis suggests that Satan was responsible for worship in heaven.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Satan, a fallen angel.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This excellent angel became unfaithful to his calling however.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>You were blameless in your ways<\/strong> from the day you were created <strong>till wickedness was found in you<\/strong>. Through <a title=\"Ezekiel 28:15-16 \u2013 Your widespread trade\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/ezekiel-2815-16-widespread-trade\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">your widespread trade<\/span><\/a> you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. <strong>Your heart became proud on account of your beauty<\/strong>, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; \u2026\u00a0\u00a0 (Ezekiel 28:15-17)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>How you have fallen from heaven, <strong>morning star<\/strong>, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, \u201cI will ascend to the heavens;<strong> I will raise my throne above the stars of God<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Isaiah 14:12-14)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These statements are not ideas of Ezekiel and Isaiah; they are <strong>prophecies, given at God\u2019s behest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Satan became proud of his appearance and his position. In his pride he wanted to be like God.<br \/>\nAs a result of all this Satan was banished from heaven and cast down to earth.<br \/>\nSince then he is the adversary of God and he is no longer active in the third heaven, but in the heavenly realms. His field of action is the earth.<\/p>\n<p>The Book of Revelation says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The great dragon was hurled down &#8211; that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.
