{"id":556,"date":"2014-05-13T15:00:41","date_gmt":"2014-05-13T14:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/?p=556"},"modified":"2014-05-13T15:02:35","modified_gmt":"2014-05-13T14:02:35","slug":"god-created-woman-eve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/god-created-woman-eve\/","title":{"rendered":"God created the woman &#8211; Eve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the sixth day of creation God created mankind.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u2026 in the image of God he created them; male (manly) and female (womanly) he created them.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 1:27)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>How God created mankind, the man Adam, as spirit, soul and body was discussed in the study <a title=\"God created mankind \u2013 Adam\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/god-created-mankind-adam\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2018God created mankind\u2019<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:7)<\/p>\n<p>God placed Adam in an exquisite garden.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:8)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Adam was then given an assignment:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:15)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Until now it was always said that God saw that everything He had created was good.<br \/>\nHowever, when He saw Adam alone in the Garden of Eden, He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>It is not good for the man to be alone<\/strong>. I will make a helper suitable for him.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:18)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the <a title=\"Online Bijbel\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/online-bijbel\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">OLB<\/span><\/a> the translation from the Hebrew can also be interpreted as follows:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>It is not good (not pleasant, not sensible), for the man to be alone (to be separated, to be lonely). I shall make (bring about, bring forth) a helper (someone who helps, a protection), suitable for him (who is striking, who equates to him, who is parallel to him).<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After God had created the woman, Eve, creation was complete and we read:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>God saw all that he had made, and it was <strong>very good<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 1:31)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When God decided to give Adam a helper who was like him, He did not place a woman in the Garden of Eden suddenly. God never forces anything on anyone. Adam had first to discover that he was lacking something.<\/p>\n<p>This is why God brought \u2018all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky\u2019 to Adam:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u2026 to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. <strong>But for Adam no suitable helper was found<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:19-20)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is not stated anywhere, but God created the animals as males and females.<br \/>\nWhen Adam saw them all passing before him, he discovered that he himself was alone. He had no one like himself, no one who equated to him, no one he could look in the eye.<\/p>\n<p>When Adam had discovered this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u2026 the LORD God caused the man (Adam) to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man\u2019s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:21-22)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In this verse as \u2018the man\u2019 is used twice as the translation, but it says in Hebrew that God caused \u2018Adam\u2019 to fall into a deep sleep. It is from Adam\u2019s body that God formed Eve.<br \/>\nAfterwards, when He brought her to \u2018the man\u2019, this means that the union of a man and a woman is universal, and not only limited to Adam and Eve.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:24)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The relationship between Adam and Eve was a role-model for the future, when God says that a man will leave his father and mother in order to be united to his wife (to stick to, to grasp) and to experience a spiritual and physical unity with her.<\/p>\n<p>It is God Himself, Who established marriage as a creation order.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/9.-Huwelijk.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-268\" alt=\"9.
