Huwelijk\" src=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/9.-Huwelijk1.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/9.-Huwelijk1.jpg 576w, https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/9.-Huwelijk1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When God had completed the creation of the world,<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; &#8230;\u00a0Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:8)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He also brought all the animals to Adam, so that he could give them a name. As a result of this, Adam discovered that he was alone, and God formed Eve, from one of Adam\u2019s ribs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adam and Eve lived in complete harmony with each other.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:25)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>They lived in complete harmony with God.<br \/>\nThey were used to God being present in the Garden.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden \u2026\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 3:8)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Adam and Eve\u2019s commission.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>God had also given them a commission.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Then God said, \u201cLet us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, <strong>so that they may rule<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>over the fish of the sea<\/li>\n<li>and the birds in the sky<\/li>\n<li>over the livestock<\/li>\n<li>and all the wild animals<\/li>\n<li>and over all the creatures that move along the ground.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 1:26)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;\u00a0 male and female he created them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 1:27)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>God blessed them and said to them,<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Be fruitful<\/strong> and increase in number;<\/li>\n<li>fill the earth and <strong>subdue it<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rule over<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>the fish of the sea<\/li>\n<li>and the birds in the sky<\/li>\n<li>and over every living creature that moves on the ground.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 1:28)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Presented schematically.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/11.-Heers-over-de-aarde.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-270\" alt=\"11. Heers over de aarde\" src=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/11.-Heers-over-de-aarde.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/11.-Heers-over-de-aarde.jpg 576w, https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/11.-Heers-over-de-aarde-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>God entrusted the dominion of the earth to mankind, to Adam and Eve and their posterity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adam and Eve ruled over creation in accordance with God\u2019s will, in an open relationship met Hem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Two important trees in the Garden of Eden.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>God placed two important trees in the Garden of Eden:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground\u2014trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the middle of the garden were the <strong>tree of life<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>and the <strong>tree of the knowledge of good and evil<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:9)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The tree of life.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This tree stood \u2018in the middle of the garden\u2019, <strong>in the centre of Adam and Eve\u2019s world<\/strong>.<br \/>\nAdam and Eve were created perfect, so that they would live forever. That is what the tree of life testifies to.<br \/>\nWhen Adam and Eve had to leave paradise, as will be explained in the following study, God said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cHe (man) must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 3:22)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The tree of the knowledge of good and evil.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nAdam and Eve, created in God\u2019s image, lived completely naturally in an open relationship with Him.<br \/>\nGod longed for them to live in accordance with His will, but not as robots, because He had created them as such, but out of their own free will.<br \/>\nThat is why He gave man the possibility of making a choice.<br \/>\nTo that end God planted the <strong>tree of the knowledge of good and evil<\/strong> in the Garden of Eden.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>And the LORD God commanded the man, (ordered the man, commissioned the man)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are <strong>free to eat<\/strong> from <strong>any tree<\/strong> in the garden;<\/li>\n<li>but you must <strong>not eat<\/strong> from the <strong>tree of the knowledge of good and evil<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>for when you eat from it you will certainly die.\u00a0\u00a0 (Genesis 2:16-17)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Before proceeding further with the life of Adam and Eve in paradise, attention must first be given to an important event, described in <a title=\"Rebellion in heaven\" href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/rebellion-heaven\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2018Rebellion in heaven\u2019<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Print this study as a PDF document:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Adam-and-Eve-in-paradise.pdf\">Adam and Eve in paradise.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the study \u2018The origin of the world\u2019 we explained that man was created as spirit, soul and body.
