{"id":974,"date":"2014-08-26T09:11:54","date_gmt":"2014-08-26T08:11:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manual4life.org\/en\/?p=974"},"modified":"2019-09-13T09:36:37","modified_gmt":"2019-09-13T08:36:37","slug":"romans-120-clearly-seen-understood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delevensschool.org\/en\/romans-120-clearly-seen-understood\/","title":{"rendered":"Romans 1:20 &#8211; Clearly seen, being understood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The text:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>For since the creation of the world God\u2019s invisible qualities &#8211; <strong>his eternal power and divine nature<\/strong> &#8211; have been clearly seen, being understood <strong>from what has been made<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 (Romans 1:20)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>God\u2019s eternal power and divine nature are seen clearly, being <strong>understood from what has been made<\/strong>.<br \/>\n\u2018<strong>Seen\u2019<\/strong> and \u2018<strong>understood\u2019<\/strong> are translations of <strong>two<\/strong> Greek <strong>verbs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Understood<\/strong>: in Greek \u2018kathorao\u2019.<br \/>\nTo be translated as: to look down, to look on from above, to understand, to weigh up, to grasp.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seen<\/strong>: in Greek \u2018noeo\u2019.<br \/>\nTo be translated as: perceive in the spirit, detect, understand, grasp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Man cannot fathom God, Who is eternal, with his understanding.<br \/>\nThis is why God has revealed Himself in His Word, the Bible.
